Role:
Art Direction, Graphic Design

DOK was a temporary space to relax and create at the harbor docks in Ghent, Belgium. It consisted of a canteen, a beach, an open air arena, shared vegetable gardens, a market, a concert hall and an exhibition space.
I created the logo and did the art direction during the first three years of the project. The logo was inspired by the old concrete factory on the site and the big crane that resides next to the factory. I designed the signage, all posters and flyers, the website and newsletter.

The first two years we had to explain all the different areas to the people so we decided to work with the ground plan and highlight the parts that were opening for the public. By the third year everybody in and around Ghent knew DOK so we could work with pictures of the visitors or events. I created a framework that would easily allow these images to be integrated in the visual identity.
